His delicate compositions combine botanical realism and the sweetness of life. He was trained by Jean-Jacques Bachelier, painter to Louis XV. With his brother, they received a commission from one of the founders of the porcelain factory of Vincennes, the farmer-general Jacques Jérémie Roussel: the illustration of the collection "Horti Cellencis whose botanical plates represent the plants of Roussel's garden in his castle of La Celle Saint-Cloud. He becomes an active member of the factory to which he provides many floral models for the production of porcelain. He was a member of the Academy of Saint-Luc in 1791. The year 6 corresponds to the years 1797 and 1798.
