Stamped by Louis Moreau, cabinetmaker received master in 1764. Louis XVI period. H : 82 cm, W : 68 cm The cabinetmaker's chairs, most often made of mahogany at the end of the 18th century, are a rare example of the encroachment of the cabinetmaker's guild on the domain of the carpenter's guild. A similar armchair, also in solid mahogany and stamped by Louis Moreau was sold in Paris, study Ader, on January 29, 2021.
