A rectangular double candlestick with curved corners in mother-of-pearl veneer and gilt bronze, it has two arms of light fixed on a central part in the form of a hexagonal pinnacle partly openwork. It presents on the front a fly holder, and two side handles. It rests on small runners in leafy volute. The screen is lined with silk and is adjustable in height. Charles X period (fitted with electricity, restorations) H: 49 - L: 27 cm Provenance: Jean LEFEVRE Collection (1908- 1965), architect. This candlestick with two arms is to be compared with an example reproduced in "Le XIXe siècle Français", Paris 1957, collection des arts, Hachette Ed., p.134, fig.12.
