Pierre Gallays (1677-1749) The hunts at the château of Vincennes PIERRE GALLAYS (1677-1749) The hunts at the château of Vincennes Exceptional pair of engravings pasted on canvas representing Height. 74 cm - Width. 153 cm (unframed) Pierre Gallays was an engraver, publisher and print merchant in Paris rue St Jacques from 1702 to 1749, under the sign of St François de Sales. Son of a Parisian merchant, he married in February 1702 Élisabeth-Louise de Heuqueville, daughter of the Parisian bookseller Louis II de Heuqueville and widow of the engraver and publisher of prints Pierre Landry. He established himself as the successor to P. Landry through this marriage. He published calendars and almanacs. He died in 1749, probably in August, the date on which his will was insinuated, and his nephew, the bookseller and print dealer Jean-André Morin, took over his collection of plates.
