Paris Rectangular porcelain plaque painted by Alexandrine Mutel, with polychrome decoration of a butterfly-winged love setting a foot in a stream, holding on to two branches, the simulated frame with a gold background with burnished decoration with the effect of pearls and palmettes and the inscription: Mme Mutel Peintre de S.A.S. Mademoiselle d'Orléans. 19th century, Restoration period. 26 x 20 cm. Alexandrine Mutel was a miniaturist painter active in Paris and Sèvres and exhibited at the Salon between 1817 and 1827. This plate is based on Pierre-Paul Prud'hon's composition "Young Zephyr swinging over the water" exhibited at the Salon in 1814 and now kept in the Dijon Fine Arts Museum.
