. Clock known as "To Prince Eugene." In bronze and gilt bron - Lot 102
. Clock known as "To Prince Eugene." In bronze and gilt bronze. Dial with Roman numerals on the circumference of the barrel wheel (raised numerals). The prince Eugene, the canon and the trophies surmount a base representing Prince Eugene watching over the ashes of his mother Josephine, with the inscriptions "Honneur et Patrie" and "Piete Filiale". The whole rests on four rectangular feet, decorated on the front with chased bronze motifs of swords, axes and laurels 50 x 17 x 70 cm. B.C. Circa 1820. (Mechanism to be revised) The subject of the clock is based on Charon's aquatint of Eugene during the retreat from Russia published around 1820. The base is based on a motto close to that of the Prince "Honneur et fidélité" Bibliography: "Eugène de Beauharnais. Honneur et fidélité ", RMN, 1999, see n°156 " Clodule : Le Prince Eugène ".
