Pair of chiseled and gilded bronze parrot andirons, the birds with outstretched wings resting on a fluted sheath in an entourage of foliage, with neoclassical vase and frieze of piastres, (without irons). In the taste of the bronzier Jacques Caffieri. Louis XV period. H: 33 cm, L: 31 cm Jacques Caffieri (1678-1755) made a pair of ormolu parroted andirons (of a different model) for the Duchess of Parma at the castle of Colorno (sale Paris, Sotheby's, May 5, 2015, lot 180).
