Chinese clock in gilt bronze, the two Chinese resting on a base decorated with foliage and rocailles supporting the dial with Roman and Arabic numerals surmounted by a figure of an Indian in an entourage of foliage, (gilding redone, probably in the 19th century). The dial and the movement signed by Charles le Roy in Paris, watchmaker received master in 1733. Attributed to the bronzier Jean-Joseph de Saint-Germain. Louis XV period, circa 1750. H: 61.5 cm, W: 51 cm, D: 19 cm An identical clock, the movement also by Charles le Roy, and signed by Saint Germain, is today kept in the Metropolitan Museum of New York.
