1971 DERBI 50
Succession of Mr. X Type : 50 Customer competition Frame No. 144 Motor no. CC120 On 31 March 2013 the DERBI brand died out and with it 62 years of Spanish motorcycle history. Born in 1922, Simeon RABASA's small bicycle factory will produce its first 50 cc at the end of the Second World War and, from that date on, there will always be at least one 50 cc in the DERBI catalogue. At the 1961 Paris Motor Show DERBI presents his 3-speed "Gran Sport" cyclo "Gran Sport" which was to become "l'Antorcha" and will be sold in more than half a million units. So much to say that at DERBI the 50 we know because from 1963 a DERBI reaches the third place of a Grand Prix, moreover at JARAMA in Spain. The factory then decided to market a "carrera- client" version of the 9CV which was to become a must for all the riders in the category. Engaged by DERBI in 1967, the talented Angel NIETO finishes the year "in the points" of the World Championship. In 1968, NIETO won the legendary Tourist Trophy of the Isle of Man and in 1969 he won the first of his five world titles with DERBI. Buyers are reminded that the entire collection consists of motorcycles that have remained static in the collector's private museum for several years. A restart is therefore necessary.
