PAIR OF CHENETS in patinated and gilded bronze representing eagles with outstretched wings called "eagle fires", the eagle symbolizing Jupiter according to the model of Pierre Gouthière, the servants resting on two flaming torches facing each other. They rest on rectangular shapes chiselled with large palmettes and finished with small spinning top feet. Empire period (gilding wear, one palmette is missing) H : 34,5 - L : 25,5 - D : 15,5 cm The model of these eagles was made by Pierre Gouthière (1732-1813).
