Engraved in the collection of interior decorations concerning all that relates to furniture [] composed by C. Percier and P.F.L. Fontaine, Paris An IX, 1801, Pl 12. and p. 24.l Caption "Chandelier executed in the house of C.Ch...in Paris", and described as follows: "Chandelier executed in Paris". "The rock crystals with which this piece of furniture was to be furnished existed in rather small quantity in the hands of the owner, he wanted to use them, and he asked that the richness of this material be accompanied by that of the bronzes and of the frame: this is why winged women are supposed to hold hands in a circle, and to support torches surrounded by garlands of brillians of various shapes, they are raised on foliage from which winged griffins carrying lights on their heads start. The mounting of this piece is neat and very simple, each part, established separately, is attached to the whole by nuts that the ornaments cover."
