1972 PORSCHE 911 2,4 S - Lot 76
1972 PORSCHE 911 2,4 S Serial number 9112301728 Engine number 6329025/91-63 Rare colour Gold Metallic 140-9-3 Desirable version with oil flap Collection title This Porsche 911 2.4 S was put on the road in 1972. Painted in Gold Metallic reference 140-9-3, it was born to European specifications although it was delivered to the United States in July 1972. Always maintained, this 911 has not been completely restored, only the paint and upholstery were revised in the past. Thus, it is in good general condition, the paint was well applied and shows only very slight defects. The seats were replaced by semi-cup seats of very good workmanship made by BF Torino, close to those of a 2.7 RS. It is also from this prestigious origin that the storm doors were made, with the handles replaced by straps. The mileage counter showed 83,107 miles in 2017, equivalent to 133,747 kilometres. It was replaced by a mileage counter that now displays 34,500 kilometres, so the car has probably covered 134,500 kilometres. The steering wheel is a very nice Nardi in aluminium and black leather. On the mechanical side, apart from the traditional and regular maintenance carried out by its owner since its acquisition in 2014, the Bosch mechanical injection pump was redone to new by Mr d'Agostino. As a result, the 911 is particularly efficient, its engine sings and takes its revolutions without flinching, its gearbox works properly, and its running gears show no particular weakness when driving. This is a fine example of the Porsche 911 2.4 S from the 1972 vintage, the most sought-after because of its oil trapdoor on the rear wing. Offered in a rare original colour, it is a great opportunity to acquire the little sister of the 2.7 RS!
