This Pontiac GTO was delivered new in France on January 13th, 1966. Painted in Cameo Ivory (code CC) and fitted with a red interior (code 222), it had among its optionnal equipments: car radio, rear speakers, rear window defrost system, rally tachometer, wheel covers, center console, power steering, power brakes, tilt steering wheel, power windows, power seats, air conditioning, raised rear suspension, T-Track rear axle, Hurst four-speed manual gearbox, heavy-duty suspensions … The whole being then motorized by the 389ci code WT. We trace the history of the Pontiac back to 1995, when it was sold by Garage Henry Martinez in Nice, to Monsieur Grenier-Godard, in Monaco. It was the latter who took care of the almost complete restoration of the GTO, equipping it with its current engine, a 455 code YY with Tri-Power carburetion. The whole is described by numerous invoices dated from 1996 to 2007. It is in 2015 that the current owner acquired the GTO, scrupulously continuing its maintenance, in order to make it as close as possible to the leaving the factory shape. Among the most recent works, we count the recharging of the air conditioning, the replacement of the fuel pump and the adjustment of the three carburetors, the taking of the compressions (10.9 / 11.9 / 11 / 10.9 / 10.8 / 11.2 / 10.8), the replacement of clutch and input shaft seal ...
Today the GTO is in very good presentation condition despite the age of its paintwork. Its body does not show any trace of corrosion, including on its underpinnings. The interior is in excellent condition, the carpets, upholstery, dashboard and headliner show no notable defects.
