Alphonse LALAUZE (1872-1941) "BURTHE d'ANNELET , Adjudant General of the armies of the French Republic (1800) " Watercolor signed and dated " 1910 ". 37 x 20 cm. Gilded brass frame with laurel friezes. B.E. (Small tasks). Biography: An exceptional officer, he was colonel of the 4th hussars, general of cavalry, aide-de-camp of Masséna, he brought to the First Consul the flags taken from the enemy on June 4, 1800 at Marengo. He served in Switzerland, Italy, Bavaria, Batavia, Holland... and Hanover. He distinguished himself in Austerlitz, Spain, Russia (where he was taken prisoner), in Belgium. His name is inscribed on the north pillar of the Triumphal Arch of the star. The general died in 1830, he rests with his wife, née Sarpy (1788-1863), medalist of Sainte-Hélène who made the campaigns of 1805-1808 and accompanied her husband to Jena and Auerstaedt.
