Clock called "To Prince Eugene" In bronze and gilt bronze. Roman numerals on the dial on the circumference of the barrel wheel (a twisted needle). Prince Eugene, the cannon and the trophies are surmounted by a base representing Prince Eugene watching over the ashes of his mother Josephine, with the inscriptions "Honneur et Patrie" and "Piete Filiale". The whole rests on four rectangular feet, one on the front decorated with a chased bronze motif of swords, axes and laurels (one is missing). 50 x 17 x 69 cm. Presented on a wooden base, under a protective glass bell. A.B.E. (Bayonet accident) Circa 1820. (Mechanism to be revised) Provenance: Collection Jean-Marc AGOTANI The subject of the clock is based on Charon's aquatint of Eugene during the retreat from Russia published around 1820.
