FRACHET. French school of the first third of the XIXth Century - Alphonse Henry Victor Blouquier de Trélan (Maastricht 1793 - Blida 1830) in officer's uniform with its three decorations, Legion of Honour, Order of Saint Louis and Order of Saint Ferdinand. Spanish - Marie - Désirée - Victorine Brindejonc de Berminham (Bordeaux 1799 - Constantine 1885), spouse Blouquier de Trélan, in white dress and big blue shawl Pair of watercolour portraits and gouache highlights on oval shaped paper. Annotated on the reverse side of the support sheet in black ink. Height: 15,5 - Width: 11,5 cm. (Slightly insolated) Coaster, black and gold wooden frame Biographies : Alphonse Henry Victor Blouquier de Trelan, was a student at the Military Cavalry School of Saint-Germain (1810-1812), captain on July 17, 1816, battalion commander on January 14, 1830. Aide-de-camp to General de Bourmont, he followed him in his flight from Waterloo to Algiers. First aide-de-camp of General de Bourmont during the African Expedition, he was shot in the belly at Blida, Algeria, in 1830. His death is recounted by Barchou de Penhouën in Mémoires d''un officier d''état-major, Paris, Charpentier, 1835, p.305 . Knight of the Royal and Military Order of Saint-Louis (5 October 1823), Knight of the Legion of Honour (18 February 1814), Knight of the Order of Saint-Ferdinand of Spain. The descendants of his brother Louis Henri BLOUQUIER de TRELAN, Baron de TRELAN (London,1798 - Cravant-les-Côteaux,1878) is allied with the de Saint-Exupéry family: Elisabeth Blouquier de Trelan (1843-1906), daughter of Louis Henri and Charlotte Taschereau des PICTIERES, married Fernand, Count of Saint-Exupéry, on 28 April 1862 in Paris IXth.
