Pair of sconces in patinated and gilded bronze with three branches of light formed by three arrows held by a Zephyr mask and surmounted by balls supporting the binets, inscribed for one St C 3850, St C36 and illegible / 2061 /15 595 / V9686 and 2061 and for the other 2028 /2143 /V9686 / St C36 1238. Attributed to the bronze-maker Galle Empire period (a refixing tap, gilding wear and tear, probably missing a disc with a peg) H : 10 - W : 38 - D : 32 cm Identical model arms appear in the inventory of the Fontainebleau palace in 1806, for the company room of the Secretariat of State of the Kingdom of Italy, undated memory: "1 pair of arms with arrows and balls, two lights....96"1 . These sconces know a certain success, and the model exists with two or three branches and with masks in patinated bronze like the sconces which we present or gilded.like those delivered by Galle in 1808 for the living room of the apartment of the governor or the lady of honor to and described: " pavilion of the Tiber and described " 1 pair of arms of chimney 3flèches, head of gilded blower...130 " 3 . In 1810 we find in the third salon of the apartment of prince n°3, court of the Princes, thus mentioned: "two soul-headed arms, three arrows, gilded balls and bobèches, bronzed flowers28c taken from the middle arrows ...120"4 The Château de Fontainebleau today has several pairs of arms with masks of blower balls and arrows for which some variations can be seen in the binets Bibliography: J P.
