1972 RANGE ROVER A suffix Serial number 35801319A One of the first Range Rover Many recent works French title This A suffix Range Rover was registered on June 1st, 1972. It is the 1319th Range Rover produced. Painted in Sahara Dust, this Range Rover was owned by Mr. Robinet living in Moret, in May 1972 as evidenced by a provisional registration certificate. It was in 2012 that its current owner acquired it and began a major restoration done by professional, it lasted three years and the following works were carried out: - The V8 engine was removed, the LPG installation removed, the power steering pump replaced. The engine was refurbished, including a test of the block and cylinder heads, replacement of the camshaft, crankshaft bearings, connecting rod bearings; the repair of the sealing; the water pump, clutch system, complete filtration were replaced and the ignition system refurbished. - The gearbox and transfer case were replaced in 2019 because the old parts showed slight play. - The running gear was completely overhauled: replacement of the ball joints, tie rod links; the drive train were cleaned, degreased and their sealing restored. These were then mounted on new silent blocks. The wheel and pivot bearings were replaced. The tightness of the bowls was reviewed. The front and rear shock absorbers and springs were reconditioned. The brake calipers were renovated, all the hoses were replaced. The four tires were changed, the rims sanded and then repainted. The bevel gear and the hubs were adjusted. - The body was separated from the chassis. The driver and passenger floors were restore and repainted. The outer body received a new paint in its original color. - The chassis was disassembled, sanded and repainted in black epoxy. - The engine compartment was repainted. - The rear, upper and lower tailgates as well as the rear side windows were replaced. - The rear cross member, the tank support and the tank itself were r
