FURNITURE OF SALON in natural wood including: four armchairs and a shepherdess with a convertible backrest carved with ribbon torus, the armrest consoles decorated with acanthus leaves, the tapered legs with filleted flutes, the shepherdess stamped I. B Lelarge, the armchairs bear a GB mark on the Louis XVI period crosspieces H: 88 cm l: 60 cm deep: 51 cm The armchairs are to be compared to a pair of armchairs in the Viel collection, sold in Paris, on May 24, 1932, under number 71. Jean-Baptiste LELARGE (1743-1802) carpenter received master in 1775. Jean-Baptiste Lelarge works with the upholsterer merchants Claude Chevalier rue du Saint Sépulcre and Pierre Premiat established rue Pastourelle. He works a lot for the Crown and some of his work is delivered to the Petit Trianon
