1934 HOTCHKISS 413 ROADSTER "HOSSEGOR"
Chassis n° 39 792 Same family since 1935 ! French title In 1933, HOTCHKISS, "the brand of the middle ground", climbed to the top of the podium. The success of the brand was confirmed: 1933 was the year of "fair records". These gave sales a beneficial boost, pushing the concerns and misfortunes of a persistent crisis that was undermining the entire industry into the background. Second victory at the Monte Carlo Rally. The workshop prepared three type AM80 engines. Team victory in the International Cup of the Alps (engine type 413 like our model). This engine was mounted with unmilled connecting rods to obtain a better lubrication. The approval of the service of Mines for the type 413 takes place on February 3, 1933. The model presented is a type 413 whose chassis is made up of 2 pressed steel spars and 2 false spars forming diagonal struts and 2 sheet metal crosspieces. The type 413 was manufactured only during 3 years from 1933 to 1935. Our model was bought by the family on March 22, 1935 at the garage Bosquet in Paris. The purchase invoice is present in the file, as well as some maintenance invoices from Sofia Hotchkiss and Henri Chapron. There is also an "authorization to circulate" in 1946. It is rare to present a car bought one year after its release from the factory by the same family. This beautiful Hotchkiss will give as much pleasure as it has given over the last 87 years. And as the famous Latin poet Horace, friend of Virgil, said: "The Golden Mean is the limit beyond and below which reason cannot be found".
