CASSONE in carved walnut. Longitudinal panel of the front decorated with two masks on carved leather cartouches framing a cartouche bearing the Secco family coat of arms (fig.a) "argent, a lion rampant gules, with a sword in the dexter side, on the whole, a blue band, charged with three silver roses", uprights decorated with Mars and Venus in niches, double bracketed legs and central shell, lateral handles in wrought iron Italy, Venice, second half of the 16th century Height : 63 cm - Length : 163,5 cm - Depth : 59,2 cm (some accidents, old top readapted) The Secchi family, originally from Caravaggio near Bergamo, then settled in Milan. Over the centuries, it branched out into Secco d'Aragona, Secco Borella, Secco Suardo and Secco Comneno.
