Daniil Andreyevich Solozhev (1908-1994) - artist and poet of Russian abroad, bibliophile. The son of a military doctor. In 1917, the family left for the Crimea, and at the end of the Civil War left Russia forever. At the end of World War II, Solozhev and his wife went to Germany for forced labour. In 1945, after the defeat of Germany, the Solozhevs were allowed to go to France for permanent residence. He exhibited at the Salon of the Lyon Society of Fine Arts, received a bronze, silver and first gold (1958) medals. In 1955, Solozhev began correspondence with A.M. Remizov, who appreciated his poems and literary records and insistently advised the artist to engage in literary work. Collected a beautiful collection of lifetime editions of Russian classics.
