1959 MGA 1500 roadster - Lot 42
1959 MGA 1500 roadster US registration document + 846A Serial number HDK4365147 - Important recent restoration - Iconic British coupé of its time With its racing-car look and attractive price, the MGA was an immediate commercial success. The United States, at the time fond of British roadsters, absorbed most of the production, setting a sales record for a sports car with over 100,000 units sold. The interior, though Spartan, was sporty and functional, with a full dashboard and ample space for two people. True to the concept of the pure roadster, the MGA has no windows in the doors, and its soft top folds down completely, allowing you to fully enjoy the sensations of open-air driving. The example we're presenting was imported from the USA in July 2022, from Astoria, New York, for its current owner. Since its arrival in France, this MGA 1500 has undergone restoration and mechanical overhaul between 2023 and 2025. The braking system and clutch were replaced. The running gear was overhauled and fitted with new shock absorbers. The hull was completely sandblasted and repainted, with sheet metal work including replacement of the sills, front end and floorboards. Mechanically, the vehicle features a starter motor, a radiator replaced between 2023 and 2025, a stainless steel exhaust system, and a revised wiring harness. The overall aim is to ensure a sound structural base and reliable mechanical operation. A comprehensive set of invoices accompanies the vehicle and can be supplied on request. The vehicle has passed its roadworthiness test. Restored in this way, this MGA 1500 is in beautiful condition considering its age. The description of the vehicle is based on information provided by the seller, who remains solely responsible for the condition of the property. Maison Osenat verifies the consistency of this information. 1959 MGA 1500 roadster US registration document + 846A Serial number HDK4365147 Significant recent restoration An icon of British coupés With its racing car look and attractive price, the MGA was an instant commercial success.
