1960 Jaguar MK2 3.8 - Lot 115
1960 Jaguar MK2 3.8 Chassis: 214325DN French collector's registration - 3.8 version, the most sought-after in the range, - Elegant British sedan emblematic of the 60s - Timeless configuration. In 1959, Jaguar unveiled the MK2, an elegant and more powerful evolution of the MK1 compact sedan. Available with a choice of engines, the 3.8 version was distinguished by its lively, supple in-line six-cylinder engine, derived from that of the legendary E-Type. With its refined lines, wood-panelled interior and remarkable driving qualities, the MK2 quickly became a 1960s icon, as much appreciated by gentlemen drivers as by movie stars. The example presented here is a 3.8 delivered new in October 1960 by Charles Delacroix. In September 2022, this car underwent a €1,500 service, including replacement of the accessory belt, brake release, engine and gearbox oil change, and replacement of the engine gaskets. Our example shows the effects of time while benefiting from a well-maintained mechanical system and a successful test drive. The interior retains its original woodwork and upholstery, reinforcing the authentic charm of this model. The latest technical inspection, carried out in October 2025, indicates that a number of items have been repaired, notably the brakes and corrosion of the underpinnings. An attractive example, emblematic of British craftsmanship, ready to join a collection or take to the road in style. 1960 Jaguar MK2 3.8 Chassis: 214325DN French collector's registration document - 3.8 version, the most sought-after in the range - Elegant British saloon car, emblematic of the 1960s - Timeless design.
