1959 Citroën ID 19 "Normale - Lot 106
1959 Citroën ID 19 "Normale
- French registration
-Serial number 737006
- Rare "Normale" version
- Black color with original blue fabric upholstery
- Matching numbers
- Same owner since 1997
- Four examples on the road
- Citroën manufacturer's certificate available
Produced between 1957 and 1959, the ID 19 "Normale" was the simplest model in the ID range, offered before the arrival of the Luxe and Confort versions. The last year of production, 1959, naturally limited distribution.
The "Normal" version can be identified by a number of distinctive features: narrow bumpers without bumpers, no side trims, rear lights with separate reflectors, sheet metal trims, body-colored dashboard and blue fabric upholstery. It is powered by a 1,911 cm³ four-cylinder engine derived from the Traction 11 D, combined with a four-speed manual gearbox.
The car was discovered in an Aveyron barn in 1997 by its current owner. The seller undertook work on it, respecting its original configuration and character. The engine runs unopened. The clutch and entire hydraulic system have been refurbished: suspension spheres and accumulator sphere replaced, single-piston HP pump rebuilt and height correctors changed. The circuit operates with red fluid, as specified at the time.
The dynamo has been rebuilt, the regulator replaced, and the electrical system remains on 6 volts. The vehicle is fitted with new Michelin X tires with the original dimensions, 165 x 400 at the front and 155 x 400 at the rear.
Accompanied by its Citroën manufacturer's certificate and matching numbers, this is one of only four surviving examples of this "Normale" version on the road.
