In October 1982, the Escort XR3i made its appearance, adopting fuel injection and benefiting from the experience acquired in competition with the RS1600i. In 1986, with the launch of the Mark IV, considered a facelift of the Mark III, the XR3i program was extended. It was first acquired by the Ford dealer in Feurs, then bought by a former policeman and then by its current owner, an automotive professional, on July 22, 2016. This model is a cabriolet version, which gives it a pleasing silhouette. Powered by the 1596 cm3 OHV "CVH" coupled to a BC-5 gearbox, the XR3i was rated at 105 hp. The bodywork was completely restored, as were the oil cooling system and the soft-top lifting system. It is in its original black AA9 livery, redone for its current owner. The car will be sold with the restoration and maintenance file, a grey soft-top cover and a blue interior cover with embroidered Ford crest.
