LARREY (Dominique-Jean). Letter signed as "Inspector General - Lot 235
LARREY (Dominique-Jean). Letter signed as "Inspector General, surgeon-in-chief of the army and ex-Garde", addressed to Pierre Brielman, surgeon sub-aide major of the light ambulances of the headquarters. Paris, May 1, 1814. One p. in-4, red wax seal with his coat of arms; some foxing. Framed under glass. "The Minister of Army Ad[ministrati]on, Monsieur le comte Daru, having granted me, in the name of the Governor, several portable cases of surgical instruments for surgeons whom I believe to be worthy of this award, I have the honor of informing you, Monsieur, that I have included you on the list of those who appear to me to have deserved it. Please receive one of these cases as a token of my appreciation for the services you rendered to our wounded during the last campaign. I have reason to believe that this mark of the governor's benevolence will be a new source of emulation for you...".
