DUTILLEUX (Henri). Autograph letter signed. Issy-Les-Moulina - Lot 173
DUTILLEUX (Henri). Autograph letter signed. Issy-Les-Moulinaux [now Hauts-de-Seine], October 2, 1955. Unp.1/2 in-folio. "Dear Sir, you would be doing me a great favor if you could give me, within a few days, the manuscript of my "3sonnets de Jean Cassou", which I entrusted to you during a meeting a few months ago. The score has been requested for concerts in Switzerland. Couldn't you drop it off at Radio... on one of your next visits to this area? Thank you in advance. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for having sent me the latest issue of the "Journal musical français", as I assume that it is to you that I owe not only this mailing but also the few lines concerning the recording of "Le Loup" [ballet based on a text by Jean Anouilh, recorded in 1955 by the orchestra of the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées under the direction of Paul Bonneau], under the signature of L'Aiguilleur, as well as the small echo relating to the forthcoming recording of my symphony. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your vigilant interest in all that relates to my career..." Letter probably addressed to music critic Émile Vuillermoz (1878-1960), who was a friend of Fauré, Debussy and Ravel, and who signed many of his columns with various pseudonyms, including "L'Aiguilleur".
