ARTAUD (Antonin). Autograph letter signed "Antonin Artaud" to Jacques Prevel. [Ivry-sur-Seine, August 13, 1947. Unep.1/4 in-8, envelope preserved. "Dear Jacques Prevel, I waited for you all day yesterday. Come to Ivry anyway, I can't move from here in the horrible state I'm in. I am waiting for you..." Jacques Prevel, a cursed poet, was a late friend of Antonin Artaud, whom he met in May 1946. Weakened by poverty and drugs, he died of tuberculosis in 1951, leaving a diary published in 1974 under the title En Compagnie d'Antonin Artaud.
