First edition, one of 50 numbered copies on japon, justified by the publisher. -Les Trophées. A Paris, chez Alphonse Lemerre, 1893. In-8, paperback, in a morocco-backed chemise in a lined slipcase; traces of glue on the cover, some quires loose, spine of chemise faded. First bookstore edition, with title printed in red and black, completed on the same day as the original (10 copies only) and published one month after the original. A first-issue copy, without cardboard on page 196, i.e. without the 2 lines added at the end of the top stanza ("Sur un brave étalon cap de more qui fume/ Etpiaffe, en secouant son frein blanchi d'écume."), and with the first line of the bottom stanza before modification ("Sous cette brave escorte, au trot de leurs deux mules" instead of "Ainsi bien escortés, à l'amble de leurs mules").
