Large in-8, (4blanches)-152-(4blanches)pp, lavaliere morocco, ribbed spine, celadon morocco linings filleted on edges, orange moire endpapers, gilt edges on witnesses, covers and spine preserved, bordered slipcase; spine tarnished (Semet Plumelle).
Non-commercial first edition, limited to 150 numbered copies.
Autograph signed letter dated Tien-Tsin (Tianjin, near Peking), to the writer Charles-Henri Hirsch (letter scrambled in ink, but still legible). Enclosed, an autograph note signed by Max Brun and an autograph letter signed by Pierre Claudel, the writer's son, addressed to Max Brun (1966), concerning the present copy and explaining that it was one of those sent by the Paris bookseller Arthur Fontaine to some of his friends.
