First edition, unbound first issue copy. Poetic collection including "Le Poème du quinquina" (written to celebrate Colbert's recovery thanks to this plant), the tales "LaMatrone d'Éphèse" (after Petronius) and "Belphégor" (after Machiavelli), as well as the librettos for two operas, Galatée (unfinished) and Daphné (rejected by Lully). Provenance: "Berry" and "Elquin prêtre" (handwritten bookplates on title).
