Signatures: a4, A-S6, T4. Printed in Gothic script. Bound in red half-maroquin with corners, spine ribbed, double gilt fillet in leather border on boards, speckled edges; copy washed and ruled; corners rubbed, about ten leaves re-mounted on tabs including the first ones, small angular lack on the first and last leaves, some marginal wetness, marginal tears without lack on f.S5, one leaf with some old restorations, faded old handwritten note and scratched stamp on title, 2 stained table leaves, some minor worm damage (late 19th-century binding). Fine Parisian printing of 1524 by Antoine Couteau for Galliot DuPré. Published four months after the original by the same bookseller with the same material. Like the original, it includes the first 6 books of this famous Chronicle. Woodcuts: title frame, French coat-of-arms on verso of title, Galliot du Pré's typographical mark on verso of last leaf, with numerous beautiful initials. A rare item.
