CARRE in PARIS Louis XIV "Oignon" watch Circa 1700 Case: round, "onion" type, in gilded metal, with two hinges. The back is embossed and engraved with arabesques. (Domed glass to be refixed.) Dial: with enameled lozenges, decorated with stylized hammered motifs in the center. Enamel cartouches for Roman numerals, enamel minute track in a central circle. Glass: domed mineral glass. Movement: mechanical with key winding, chased openworked cock with opening for balance wheel. Mounted on two feet, verge escapement with spindle and chain. Engraved signature on the plate. Diameter: 56 mm.
