1973 CITROEN DS 23 IE PALLAS Chassis n° 02FG5580 French registration - Velours version - One of the last produced - Timeless configuration - Hydraulic gearbox - Many recent upgrades Introduced in 1973, the new DS 23 range comprises several different versions: carburetor, fuel injection, 5-speed manual gearbox, 4-speed hydraulic gearbox, 3-speed automatic gearbox, and station wagon... Compared with the previous 21, the main innovation is the engine's displacement, which increases from 2175cc to 2347cc, i.e. 13HP for tax purposes. At 2347cc, the engine develops 130 DIN hp at 5250 rpm and 19.9 mkg at 2500 rpm, still with Bosch indirect electronic fuel injection. Our example is a Pallas version of the DS 23 IE, delivered in October 1974. It was one of the last DS produced after the launch of the new CX. Presented in Scarab Brown with velvet upholstery, this DS has belonged to the current owner's father for 20 years. Very attached to his car, he has always maintained it regularly, spending over 20,000 euros in 15 years, as evidenced by an impressive file of available invoices. This year, the clutch, crankshaft, fuel injection and hydraulic system were overhauled by specialist Denis Loumas.
