The Iso Rivolta IR 300, presented at the Turin Motor Show in 1962, marked a major transformation for Iso, then known for its microcars and motorcycles. Under the vision of Renzo Rivolta and engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, this gran turismo coupé was designed to rival the great luxury brands. Its design, by Bertone's Giorgetto Giugiaro, combines elegance and sportiness. The engine, a 5.4-liter Chevrolet V8, delivered 295 hp, enabling the IR 300 to reach an impressive top speed of 218 km/h. This combination of Italian aesthetics and American mechanics made the Iso Rivolta a powerful yet refined car, suitable for both long-distance journeys and sporty performance.
The Iso Rivolta IR300 presented here was delivered new by the brand's Belgian importer, Navarobel NV, on August 9, 1969. It was one of only 5 delivered by this dealer. It is equipped with its original 5.4L Chevrolet V8 and manual gearbox. It remained in Belgium until 2020, when it was acquired by its current owner, a South African collector.
He undertook a complete restoration in his own workshop, Dragon Classiche. The body was stripped bare, sandblasted and painted in its original "Argento Auteuil Metallizzato" ( 106E1) hue. The black leather interior has also been refurbished.
The engine, gearbox and wiring harness have been removed and rebuilt. This restoration is documented by a detailed file with photos.
An electronic ignition was installed, and the brakes and suspension were modernized.
Since its arrival in France, the car has benefited from the climate of the Côte d'Azur, where its owners have enjoyed it in recent years.
Combining Italian design with a high-performance American engine, the ISO Rivolta IR 300 combines the best of both worlds.

The Iso Rivolta IR 300, unveiled at the 1962 Turin Motor Show, marked a significant turning point for Iso, a company previously known for microcars and motorcycles. Under the leadership of Renzo Rivolta and engineer Giotto Bizzarrini, this grand tourer was designed to compete with top luxury brands. Its design, penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone, masterfully blends elegance and sportiness. The car was powered by a 5.4-liter Chevrolet V8 engine producing 295 horsepower, allowing the IR 300 to reach an impressive top speed of 218 km/h. This fusion of Italian styling and American engineering made the Iso Rivolta both a refined and powerful car, suitable for long-distance cruising as well as sporty performance.
The Iso Rivolta IR 300 we present was delivered new by the Belgian importer, Navarobel NV, on August 9, 1969. It is one of just five units delivered by this dealer. Still equipped with its original 5.4-liter Chevrolet V8 engine and manual gearbox, this example remained in Belgium until 2020, when it was acquired by its current owner, a South African collector.
The current owner undertook a comprehensive restoration at his personal workshop, Dragon Classiche. The body was stripped down, sandblasted, and repainted in its original "Argento Auteuil Metallizzato"( 106E1). The black leather interior was also fully refurbished. The engine, gearbox, and electrical system were overhauled, with the restoration thoroughly documented in a detailed dossier, including photos. During the restoration, an electronic ignition was installed, and the brakes and suspension were upgraded.
Since arriving in France, the car has enjoyed the sunny climate of the French Riviera, where its owners have taken full advantage of its blend of Italian design and powerful American performance. The Iso Rivolta IR 300 truly combines the best of both worlds.
