1971 ALPINE 1600S - Lot 251
1971 ALPINE 1600S Type A110 1600VB Coupe bodywork Series 17207 Body 4515 Alpine blue metallic, black interior Put into service on January 26, 1971 Normal French registration This 1600VB berlinette was delivered on January 20, 1971 to Monsieur PELLERIN of Seine Saint Denis, via the Renault Pantin branch. Metallic blue in color, with serial number 17207 and body number 4515, it was priced at 32,800 francs, with options of around 1,000 francs. The car's history was unknown until it passed into the hands of its current owner in 1992, when it was registered 604 RN 66. He has owned it for 32 years. This 1600S has retained its original bodywork, which is worth noting as many of them have acquired fins and other wide fenders or spoilers in their lifetime. This is not the case with this model, which comes in its classic and much-appreciated original color, the famous alpine blue metallic. It is equipped with a large-capacity manolene front tank, a large chassis, R8 Gordini disc brakes and, above all, the desirable 364 "big gearbox" with bevel gearing, differential and reinforced transmissions (large axles and cardan shafts). Note that the steering wheel is not original and that the car has a bucket seat for the driver, the passenger seat being original. It appears to have a heated windscreen, which has not been tested. The dashboard remains very close to the original, with full instrumentation. It is fitted with a roll bar and the beautiful Gotti bimetal rims that suit it so well, as well as the original metal bumpers. To be fully compliant, it would need to be fitted with a Momo steering wheel, side mouldings, hood and rear air intakes, all of which are available as new. Mechanically, its engine, which has recently been completely rebuilt, features a "devil" exhaust manifold with side muffler and intake cones. This desirable berlinette, the most sought-after model, is in a beautiful state of presentation and very close to original, which is now most appreciated by enthusiasts of the Dieppe brand's iconic model. It also has a very interesting and now expensive gearbox option.
