1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air - Lot 209
1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air Chassis no. VCSST091670 - Original French - Original interior - Equipped with original V8 engine and Power Glide automatic transmission - Ideal for family outings Produced from 1950 to 1981, the Chevrolet Bel-Air takes its name from an upscale Los Angeles neighborhood. The second generation (1954-1957) was characterized by sharper front curves and receding rear fenders, a better integrated and more discreet grille, and still plenty of chrome reminiscent of the splendor of American cars of the period. But it was mainly under the hood that the change was made: a V8 (carburetor) was offered alongside the in-line 6. The car was discontinued in the USA in 1975, and in Canada in 1981, to be gradually replaced by the Chevrolet Impala. The Bel-Air's strength lies in its ability to combine mass production with a wide range of unique customization options, both in terms of engines and body styles. The model presented here was imported to France in 1955 by General Motors, making it a rare American of French origin. Today, the car is presented in its factory configuration, with its well-preserved original interior. The paintwork was redone a few years ago and has a lovely patina. Our Bel-Air is equipped with the majestic 165 hp 4.3l V8, accompanied by the 2-speed Power Glide automatic gearbox, a rare option on this model. This Franco-American is a rare model on the French market, especially in this configuration. With this proud Bel-Air, you'll be able to take the whole family for a ride in comfort worthy of today's cars, if not better! 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air Chassis no.
