- Ideal for beginners in historic rallying.
Introduced in October 1955, the Triumph TR3 was an evolution of the TR2, and quickly became a success. Capable of reaching 170 km/h and offering dynamic sensations, the TR3 was distinguished by aesthetic improvements such as a widened grille and repositioned headlights, giving the car a more modern face. With the arrival of the TR3A in 1957, the model became even more refined. For the first time, door handles were fitted, while front disc brakes - an innovation for the time - brought significant gains in terms of safety and performance.
Produced until 1962, this sporty little roadster is the flagship of the British marque. The TR3A is identifiable by its "big mouth", a wide grille that extends across the front. Almost 60,000 examples were built, testifying to its popularity. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, true to Triumph's sporting spirit, offering a dynamic, engaging ride.
The example we are presenting is a 1962 model. It was purchased by its current owner in 1990 from Cecil Cars. Since then, this Triumph TR3A has benefited from a restoration a few years ago, including bodywork, upholstery and mechanics. This restoration is backed up by an extensive file of invoices, proving the care taken in its maintenance.
This vehicle is also equipped with overdrive, a popular option that enhances driving comfort, particularly on long journeys.
This TR3A will offer its future owner a sporty yet pleasant driving experience, ideal for starting out in the collection or discovering the beautiful roads of France.
