1936 OLDSMOBILE F36 coupe business - Lot 205
1936 OLDSMOBILE F36 coupe business Chassis number: 248957 Collector's registration - Streamline design - Rare in Europe - 6-cylinder in-line Founded in 1897, the Olds Motor Vehicle Company became part of the newly-formed General Motors group in 1908. Regularly changing its commercial strategy within the group, it came to be seen as the brand of the middle ground at the end of the 20s. The F series launched in 1928 was a perfect illustration of this strategy. Featuring well-finished bodywork and robust, efficient 6-cylinder engines, the range was an immediate success and went through two generations. The F36, with 36 standing for the model year, is part of the second generation of the F-type, which appeared in 1933. This generation featured modern lines based on the streamline principle, which was very much in vogue at the time, and a new 85 hp engine. The model on offer is a 3-window F36 coupe business built by Fisher, GM's official coachbuilder at the time. Restored some twenty years ago (no invoices), it is today in generally good condition. A fine alternative to pre-war European models, this Oldsmobile has the quality of performance to fit into modern traffic. What's more, its streamlined design, typical of the carefree America of the '30s, makes it a beautiful car to look at. 1936 OLDSMOBILE F36 coupe business Chassis number: 248957 French collector's registration - Streamline design - Rare in Europe - 6 cylinders in line Founded in 1897, the Olds Motor Vehicle Company became part of the new General Motors group in 1908.
