With more classic lines, an obvious link with historic models, but modern technology that lives up to 21st-century expectations. Among the many variants of the 997, the Targa 4S occupies a special place, combining sportiness, versatility and elegance. Introduced in 2006, the 997 Targa 4S is distinguished by its removable glass roof, an innovation that bridges the gap between a classic coupé and a cabriolet, while offering exceptional interior luminosity. The roof opens electrically, allowing you to enjoy the pleasures of open-air driving, without compromising the rigidity of the structure. The model is also equipped with 4S all-wheel drive, offering enhanced traction, particularly on winding roads or in tricky weather conditions. Under the hood is a 3.8-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine developing 385 hp, coupled to a manual or PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This powertrain enables the 997 Targa 4S to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, while offering remarkable driving comfort and flexibility for everyday use. The name Targa comes from the famous Italian Targa Florio race, a historic competition held in Sicily, where Porsche enjoyed many successes in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1965, Porsche introduced a new version of the 911 with a partially removable roof to meet the new American safety standards prohibiting convertibles. This model, unveiled in 1966, was named Targa in homage to the legendary race. Since then, the name has stuck, designating Porsche models with this distinctive roof, somewhere between coupé and cabriolet. This example was delivered new in Germany in 2009 by Porsche Centre Schwarzwald-Baar. This Porsche 997 Targa 4S was rigorously maintained by the same center until 2015. It was then sold to the Netherlands, where it continues to be serviced by Porsche Centrum Twente. In 2021, it was acquired by its current owner in France, who continued maintenance at Porsche Brest, where over €9,000 worth of invoices have been paid since purchase, the last service being on February 23, 2023. The maintenance booklet testifies to regular and complete follow-up at authorized Porsche centers, ensuring that this 997 remains in good mechanical condition.
