1989 JAGUAR XJS CABRIOLET V12 - Lot 22
1989 JAGUAR XJS CABRIOLET V12 Serial number SAJJNADW4DP159688 French registration Last V12 of the brand Desirable European version Only 49,000 km 15000 /20000 When the XJS was launched in 1975, it was only available as a coupé, interrupting the great tradition of Jaguar convertibles. It wasn't until 1983 that Jaguar responded with the launch of the XJSC, a Targa. It wasn't until 1988 that the Cabriolet made its comeback, 14 years after the E-Type was discontinued. The XJS's career was relaunched, with the Cabriolet enjoying great success, particularly in the USA. The example we present is a V12 Cabriolet delivered new on April 13, 1989 to the Jaguar dealership in Chêne-Bougeries, on the outskirts of Geneva. The car was then registered GE 106 752. In 1996, it was imported into France and registered 915 ADN 78. In 2000, its owner acquired it and registered it in Paris. Regularly serviced in Gilbert Tissier's workshops (we have no invoices), this XJS is in good general condition. On the body, there are a few minor dents to note, while on the mechanical side, our test drive confirmed the V12's vigour and the gearbox's smoothness. The electric soft-top works well, as does most of the electrical equipment. The alternator has recently been replaced, as has the starter motor. The upholstery is in good condition, as is the soft top. A true symbol of the '90s, this XJS is just waiting for you to take it out into the sunshine.
