1989 Rolls Royce Corniche French registration Serial number SCAZD02A9KCX29057 Major overhaul 16 000€ of invoices The Rolls-Royce Corniche, launched in 1971, embodies the essence of great British automotive luxury, with elegant design and high quality craftsmanship. Named after the winding coastal roads of the French Riviera, the Corniche is the symbol of English refinement and elegance. Its allure and flowing lines captivate at first glance, while its interior is a veritable cocoon of comfort and exclusivity. Under its hood, the Corniche hides a 6.75-liter V8 engine, offering a smooth, quiet driving experience, while delivering good performance for a vehicle in this class. The automatic transmission makes driving easy and serene, whether on city avenues or country roads. Produced in five distinct series over its 24-year career, the Corniche has constantly evolved to remain at the pinnacle of technology and luxury. Each series brought its share of technical improvements and refined aesthetic details. The first series (1971-1977) was based on the Silver Shadow coupé, but with more exclusive finishes. Subsequent series, notably the Corniche II (1977-1989), incorporated innovations such as automatic air conditioning, an improved suspension system and more powerful brakes. In 1986, the Corniche III was introduced, offering more subtle exterior modifications but improved interior comfort with airbags and electrically adjustable seats. In 1993, the Corniche IV introduced a fully automatic soft top, further enhancing driving pleasure. Produced in only a few thousand examples, the Corniche remains an iconic model, prized by classic car enthusiasts. Whether coupé or cabriolet, it represents Rolls-Royce's craftsmanship, with hand-finishings, noble materials and meticulous attention to detail. The model we present is a 1989 Rolls-Royce Corniche, which benefited from a major overhaul after its acquisition in 2023 by its current owner. With over €16,000 in invoices, this Corniche has been meticulously maintained. The work carried out included rebuilding the steering rack and the four front brake calipers. The silentblocs of the upper and lower suspension arms were replaced, ensuring optimum roadholding. The front shock absorbers were replaced and the ball joints adjusted, and the ride height was adjusted. On the transmission side, two driveshaft flectors were replaced, while the engine benefited from a complete overhaul including removal, inspection and cleaning of the injectors, replacement of two injectors, cleaning of the fuel tank and strainer, as well as replacement of the fuel pump and spark plugs. Other work included replacing the front engine mount, overhauling the window regulators, repairing the passenger door centralizer and replacing the dashboard lighting regulators and air conditioning potentiometers. The air-conditioning compressor was also overhauled, with replacement of head gaskets, valves and hoses. Last but not least, the car has passed its technical inspection, and an FFVE file has been drawn up for registration as a classic vehicle. This Rolls-Royce Corniche therefore represents an opportunity for enthusiasts looking for a vehicle combining luxury, comfort and authenticity, while having benefited from mechanical care.
