Henri Labourdette Trên-Car Circa 1920 Henri... - Lot 26 - Osenat
Henri Labourdette Trên-Car Circa 1920 Henri Labourdette's reputation as a coachbuilder is well established: Hispano-Suiza, Amilcar, Renault, Rolls-Royce, all the most luxurious cars of the 10s, 20s and 30s were dressed by the Parisian coachbuilder, not forgetting Roland Garros' legendary Black Bess. To satisfy customer demand, in 1918 he launched the "Trên-car", a trailer that was "strong, light and pleasantly shaped". "It was a great success and had many uses: it could be used to store Madame's luggage, as the coupé chauffeur's boot was a bit tight, or it could be used to go hunting and transport dogs. Today, surviving Trên-Car models can be counted on the fingers of two hands. As far as we know, our example is the only one still complete and in its original condition. All three solid steel wheels are present. In a beautiful state of preservation, it will be ready to take to the road again after a few litres of elbow grease and the replacement of its wooden floor. A must for lovers of long pre-war escapades! The two identification plates are clearly visible on each side. Note the particular shape of the fenders, with a small mud flap to prevent wheel spray from soiling the trailer. Modern wheels have been fitted, but the original three-wheelers are still there.
