Illustrated with 3 folding plates (Cavalier, plan of a fortified town and a ship). Guillet de Saint-George (1624-1705), was a French comedian and scholar. He was the first historiographer of the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture. Guillet took the name "Guillet de Saint-George", under which he is generally known, in 1661.
