DOUBLE SHOTGUN. FLINTLOCK, TWO-SHOT. Superimposed barrels with seven small bands to the muzzle and five wider bands to the thunderbolt, signed in silver inlay on top "VD-Fecht I Un", engraved with a frieze and, below, "A. Berlin". Breech tail engraved with a flower. Engraved locks, signed "VD Fecht Jun A berlin", with flat body and safety to the rear of the hammers, edged with friezes and foliage. Fine gooseneck dogs with flat bodies, engraved and chased breechcovers and jaws. Round baskets with large spark guards. Roller battery springs. Cut-out, chased bronze fittings. Leafy baguette entrance with fruit. Heel fittings with flowers. Wooden trigger guard reinforced with a brass band. Wooden butt end and ramrod with horn tip. Drawer cheek stock with long walnut barrel. Silver thumb piece. Length: 112 cm. A.B.E. Germany, circa 1780-1800 (traces of blows, small cracks glued back). FECHT, an important German harquebusier family based at Jerusalemer straße 18 in Berlin from 1710 to 1827.
