RARE 19TH REGIMENT SUPERIOR OFFICER'S SHAKO - Lot 109
RARE 19TH REGIMENT SUPERIOR OFFICER'S SHAKO DE CHASSEURS A CHEVAL Cardboard shaft and visor covered in green cloth. The upper part of the shaft is embroidered with a frieze of interlaced circles in silver canetille, and the bourdalou has two braids in silver passementerie with an imitation buckle at the back. Visor embroidered with laurel leaves. Plaque model 1810 with crowned eagle on horn with silver-plated "19". Stamped, silvered brass lion's cheekpiece. Leather and yellow silk inner cap. Remainder of label on bottom "Broutin Rue S' Leu N°43". With its large and rare black feather plume and daffodil feathers at the base. Olive embroidery, silvered. B.E. First Empire period (small restorations on the visor). Provenance : - Hôtel Drouot (Maitres Vassy & Jalenques), March 7, 2006, no. 96, expert Jean Claude Dey. History: Broutin active in Amiens, 43 rue Saint Leu under the Empire until around 1830.
