RARE FLINTLOCK POMMEL PISTOL ATTRIBUTED TO - Lot 2
RARE FLINTLOCK POMMEL PISTOL ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONSULS' GUARD. Hair-rifled, fluted barrel, slightly blunderbussed towards the muzzle, stamped with thunder on a gilded background in ovals, under phrygian cap "VF" (unidentified stamp), "NB" (Nicolas Boutet) and "B.." under cap. Turntable signed "Manufre de Versailles", with flat body and round-bodied swan-neck hammer. Plain, cut-out iron fittings. Cut-out trigger guard front in the shape of a lictor beam. Varnished walnut stock with long barrel. Flat oval iron pommel. Fanon ramrod with horn tip and iron wadding puller. Length 350 mm. A.B.E. Circa 1798-1804 (Signature removed, reapplied).
