Floating map W. 50cm, H. 30cm Gregorie Desmons is a passionate poster artist and driver of pre-war sports cars. In love with cars, and their lines, he has a very personal vision where the dream of a past he did not know is mixed with his interpretation on paper: he creates the dull roar of the vintage car with his inks on paper. In the studio, each ink drawing is a sporting challenge that is accomplished with a rapid and expressive line. "I work with suggestion rather than realism of form, my drawings capture the speed, the deformation of the car and its dynamics. My constant research, my obsession for historical vehicles leads me to a new approach where the past is grafted with Michelin maps from the 20's, which gives the imprint of the past and the colours on the roads like veins (...) on which I delicately cut the graphic forms obtained by the sliding of the ink on paper. My works are the result of a passion where the perfect form is not the goal but the capture of a moment where speed is king with the imagination that accompanies the line.
