1960 SIMCA Extremely rare Full Sky version... - Lot 95 - Osenat
1960 SIMCA Extremely rare Full Sky version N° 1753794 Collector's grey card 18 000 / 23 000 € Simca 8 Sport, 9 Sport, Week-End, Coupé de Ville, Océane or Plein Ciel, these are the evocative names for the "special" Simca cars equipped with a cabriolet or coupé body. These "special" cars had the particularity of being bodied at FACEL which included typical details such as the interior/exterior door handles. The Océane and Plein ciel models were presented at the Paris Motor Show in October 1956. The finesse of its line, its modern and flattering design, reminiscent of the Ford Thunderbird, greatly contributed to the success of these models with women. As Henri Pigozzi himself said, "I sell my cars to the prettiest women in Paris"! With its "panoramic" windscreen, the influence of FACEL is indisputable since it was the FV 2 model, at the previous Salon, that introduced this stylistic effect. The Plein Ciel coupe is capable of reaching speeds of 135 km/h with its "Flash Special" engine. It is thus, in its displacement, a very powerful car for the end of the 50's. For the anecdote, it is to this model that we owe the name of the largest network of stationery and office supplies in France. Created in 1956, the company took the name of Plein Ciel when the founders stopped in front of a Simca Plein Ciel. They liked the car and the name sounded good, so they immediately named their business after this magical name. Delivered new on June 24, 1960, this Simca Plein Ciel is today in very good general condition. Its owner came from Reims to Fontainebleau by road without worrying, a test drive confirmed his statements. The interior with its typical Facel steering wheel is in excellent condition and its red color matches perfectly with the white paint and the black roof. 1960 SIMCA Extremely rare "Plein Ciel" version N° 1753794 French Historic Registration 18 000 / 23 000 € Simca 8 Sport, 9 Sport, Week-End, Coupé de Ville, Océane or Plein Ciel, these are the evocative names for the "special" Simca equipped with a cabriolet or coupé body.
